Artists will be taking over the Downtown Waco Cultural District along Austin Avenue the morning of Saturday, May 8th, 2021 to color the streets of our fair city. On that same Saturday as well as Sunday, an artist, food and vendor market will commence to showcase the chalk murals, Waco's many talented artists and recovering small businesses! Let's rally Waco's artists and color the streets to show what Waco culture is all about!

Register to be an artist for the 2021 Wacotown Chalk + Walk and get ready to make your mark and leave a lasting impression on our city. This is our opportunity to show off the phenomenal, talented and vibrant creatives who are defining the culture of our city!
Sponsored artists will receive a supplies budget to be redeemed at MC Art Supplies for chalk mural supplies, AND if you get your supply order in by the deadline, you get way more control over the colors and materials you get. We have set up a sweet online portal for ordering this year, so it’s totally convenient!
Of course we will still have a competition with awesome prizes this year too! LIVE VOTING will be held throughout the day Saturday. PLUS every artist will walk away with something whether they place or not because… every participating artist will be getting PAID $75 for their time.

Sponsor a local artist to create an amazing chalk mural on Austin Avenue and promote your business during the 2021 Wacotown Chalk + Walk! All sponsors will have their logos and business names represented online at creativewaco.org and the opportunity to collaborate with your artist to create a chalk mural on behalf of your business. Every sponsor will have either an 11' x 14' street chalk mural on Austin Avenue between 5th and 8th street or a larger wall art mural on 7th Street between Austin and Franklin Avenue.

GUIDELINES
- Artists will have from 5 AM - 10 AM to complete their artwork on the day of the event.
- Artists will have an assigned space of approximately 11'W x 14'L on Austin Avenue between 5th & 8th Street.
- Artists who are sponsored by a local business must collaborate with their sponsor and invite their input on the theme or content of the artwork. While the art should NOT be a direct representation of their logo or brand elements (ie. it cannot look like a billboard), it can incorporate elements of their business or mission (ie. if they are a salon, it could incorporate hair.)
- Restricted content: This is a family event, so obviously, politics, vulgar language or sexual themes are off limits.
