Galkyd Gel is a thick gel with a fast dry time rate. Layers of color with Galkyd Gel typically touch dry in 24-48 hours. It increases transparency, increases the gloss of oil colors and helps create impasto texture.
Galkyd Gel is formulated with Gamsol and can be used in higher proportions of oil color for glazing techniques. To limit yellowing consider how the more medium used, the thinner the application needs to be.
Galkyd Gel is a stiffer gel compared to Galkyd Lite Gel that holds thicker, sharper brushmarks and dries more quickly. Galkyd Gel increases transparency of oil colors and creates impasto.
